Meet Amy
Founder of the Nest
Healing from trauma, anxiety, and depression is not just about understanding the past it's about reclaiming your life and stepping into a future where you feel whole, empowered, and connected. If you're struggling with the lasting effects of trauma, feeling trapped in cycles of fear, shame, or disconnection, or facing challenges in your relationships, I am here to help.
As a specialist in complex trauma and relationship healing, I bring years of expertise in guiding individuals and couples through deep, lasting transformation. I am the owner of The Nest Therapy & Wellness, where I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Coherence Therapy to help clients move beyond their pain and into healing quickly and effectively. My approach is experiential and somatic, recognizing that trauma is stored not just in the mind, but in the body as well.
With 17 years of experience as an educator, I have a profound understanding of human development, relational patterns, and the impact of early experiences on emotional well-being. My passion for healing extends beyond therapy into advocacy for women's empowerment, which led me to create The Hive Women's Empowerment Center, a space connected to The Nest, where women can heal through movement, community, and mind-body connection practices.
I am deeply committed to women's issues and relational healing, helping my clients break free from past wounds, rebuild self-trust, and create fulfilling, authentic relationships. Whether through individual therapy, couples counseling, or intensive trauma-focused sessions, I provide a compassionate, expert-led space where healing happens.
If you're ready to move past survival mode and step into a life of clarity, confidence, and connection, I encourage you to reach out. You don't have to navigate this journey alone I am here to help you heal, grow, and thrive.

Julie specializes in therapeutic movement. She became interested in the connection between movement and emotional healing when she noticed the significant improvements in her own mental health that were tied to her yoga practice. This led to her shifting her career from public education to personal wellness. She completed her 200ryt training and then perused a degree in psychology to gain a deeper understanding of the mind body connection. Julie has since expanded her trainings to become trauma informed as well as a somatic movement practitioner. She truly believes that movement is the key to emotional healing by creating the space for us to reconnect to our physical bodies at our own pace and begin to cultivate control over our experiences.
